Crypto Traded Indices (CTI) improve portfolio diversification and reduce the complexity and costs associated with defining and scaling positions in many digital and cryptocurrency assets. has obtained a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) license in France as it launches its platform for institutional clients and qualified retail investors.

Since January 2021, the Autorité des marchés financiers, the Autorité des marchés financiers, requires that any company offering digital asset services hold the corresponding license.

Trakx now holds four licenses in France to operate a crypto index trading platform, offer custody services to its clients, trade digital assets for traditional and digital currencies.

Lionel Rebibo, CEO and Founder of Trakx, said: “Although digital assets are a relatively new asset class, the industry is moving towards passive portfolio management products. The French VASP registrations granted by the AMF represent a significant step forward in our efforts to provide a compliant solution where investors can trade digital assets with confidence.

“We firmly believe this recognition is the first in a long list, as we look forward to being fully compliant in all the jurisdictions we enter.”

Trakx offers crypto investment strategies for institutional investors and professional traders. This is achieved by providing digital asset index products on a platform with the compliance, custody and liquidity required by these investors.

Digital Asset Index products are tradable through website, WebSocket and REST API, with matching engine, high liquidity access and security.

Trakx aims to exceed market standards by assembling a sophisticated platform to trade a diverse selection of Crypto Traded Indices (CTIs), as digital assets offer alternative solutions to portfolio investing.

CTIs improve portfolio diversification and also significantly reduce the complexity and costs associated with defining and scaling positions in many digital assets and cryptocurrencies.

The digital asset trading platform guarantees the highest level of compliance, secure custody and deep liquidity as demanded by the largest investors.

The DASP license is compulsory for four services in France: the preservation of digital assets; buy or sell digital assets in a legal tender currency; exchange digital assets for other digital assets; and functioning as a trading platform for digital assets.

For the first two services listed above, the AMF, in conjunction with the Prudential Control and Resolution Authority (ACPR), verifies that companies comply with the regulations relating to the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism (LAB / CFT).

In all cases, the AMF verifies the integrity and competence of the managers and beneficial owners of your organization and seeks approval from the ACPR.

The DASPs must fulfill all the obligations regarding the fight against money laundering, the fight against the financing of terrorism and the freezing of assets (AML / CFT). This obligation applies to DASPs established in France but also outside France.
